Community Access Monitor Program Training Completed for 2014
Fund raising for service dog Tabitha's dental surgery successful. Owner evicted from own home. Tabitha was return to her owner on December 3rd so they could have Christmas together.

ADA Coordinator(s) Hired Mayor Richard Kos has assigned not one but two city employees to act as coordinators for Chicopee. Carolyn Porter (Superintendent of Parks & Rec. Department) and Raisa Riggot (Human Resources Director)
Rewrite of Commission City Ordinance Final version of rewrite done, presenting to full commission and then the Mayor & City Council. (Keep your fingers crossed)

BSA Eagle Eagle Scout BSA Eagle

Michael Murawski (Scout Troop 454) performed a city-wide sidewalk/curb-cut survey for the Commission and found 125 violations to the CMR 521 Massachusetts access ability law.

And was awarded his Eagle badge.

Kevin Murawski (Scout Troop 454) completed his ADA survey of all 172 business on Memorial Drive

And was awarded his Eagle badge.


Expansion of Eagle Scout Murawski's sidewalk survey to encompass the entire city.

The results from Mikes survey have been digitized and entered into a database with the corresponding GPS locations. The city Planning Dept. is entering the data into its mapping system for the COD.
Conducting a census to count the number of disabled in the city and how many scooters and/or wheelchairs there are. Census planning finished. Hope to start data collection soon. If you would like to get a jump on it the FORM IS HERE

Fought up to DOJ who said yes & no,
but nothing was done so the battle continues
Still have it on the side but haven't put it all the way to the back burner, YET. Working on presentation which includes the school system. Have enlisted help from an UMass education researcher to expand scope of project. Working on automated web presentation. Computer narrated with animations.

Accessibility ADA survey of businesses to find those that are in ADA compliance or working to become accessible friendly to the disabled.

Service Animals

Educate the public on Federal and State ADA regulations.
